FAQS
Product Overview & Subscription
Epigenetics is the study of how lifestyle and environmental factors influence gene expression without changing your underlying DNA sequence. Think of your DNA as the hardware and epigenetics as the software that controls which genes are turned on or off. This “software” is largely responsible for regulating processes like aging, inflammation, metabolism, and disease risk.
At TruDiagnostic, we analyze DNA methylation—one of the most studied and validated epigenetic markers—to assess biological age and health risks, giving you actionable insights to improve your health outcomes.
Our TruAge test analyzes DNA methylation markers to assess your biological age and provide insights into how fast you’re aging. These markers relate to cellular function, metabolism, stress, and more. Your results help identify lifestyle changes that can optimize your health and longevity.
Biological age testing evaluates how your body is aging on a cellular level, independent of your chronological age. It reflects lifestyle, environmental exposures, and genetic expression, offering actionable data to improve health outcomes.
TruAge tests are developed using the latest generation of aging algorithms and measure a comprehensive range of biomarkers. Our tests are backed by extensive research and collaborations with top academic institutions, providing highly accurate and actionable insights.

Understanding your biological age offers valuable insights beyond your chronological age. It helps you assess how lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, and stress affect your aging process—empowering you to make informed decisions that may reduce the risk of age-related diseases and improve long-term wellness.

To check the status of your kit, log in to your account at the TruDiagnostic Portal. Your kit status will appear at the top of the homepage. You will be notified via email once our lab receives your sample, then processing will begin, and your kit status will update in your portal accordingly.
You’ll receive an email notification when your results are ready—typically within 3 to 4 weeks after we receive your sample. Results TAT can vary and may take longer if our lab is experiencing high intake volumes or your sample has failed it’s first QA/QC check.
Your online portal provides the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding your sample’s status. If it has been more than three weeks without an update, processing may be delayed for one of the following reasons:
- Quality Control (QA/QC) Failure: Although rare, your sample may have failed its initial QA/QC check. In this case, we automatically rerun your sample. If it fails a second time, our team will contact you with next steps, including arranging a replacement kit at no additional cost.
- Unregistered Kit: Lab processing cannot begin until your kit is registered. To avoid delays, please register your kit as soon as you receive it.
Visit trudiagnostic.com/register to complete your registration.
To ensure the highest accuracy, we follow strict quality standards, and it’s normal for some samples to require retesting. If this happens, processing may take up to two additional weeks.
A sample may fail due to:
- Insufficient blood sample: Not enough saturation for accurate testing.
- Low DNA yield: The sample doesn’t contain enough extractable DNA.
- Contamination or dilution: External factors affecting sample integrity.
If your sample fails, we will automatically rerun it twice. If it still does not meet our quality standards, our customer support team will contact you to discuss next steps. In some cases, a replacement kit may be needed, with a $20 fee depending on the reason for failure. If the issue is due to a lab error, we will provide a replacement at no cost.

Absolutely—and that’s the goal! Your epigenetic markers respond to lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, sleep, and stress management. As you make positive changes, we expect to see improvements in your biological age and health markers. Regular testing helps you understand which interventions are working and which are not, empowering you to make informed decisions for optimal health.
We recommend retesting quarterly for the most precise tracking of health trends and intervention effectiveness. At a minimum, you should retest once per year to keep tabs on your biological aging process and adjust your health strategies accordingly.
Our tests are developed in collaboration with leading academic institutions and are based on cutting-edge research. We measure over hundreds of thousands of CpG locations on your DNA to provide highly accurate and reliable results.
We understand that receiving unexpected biological age or epigenetic results can be challenging; however, dissatisfaction with your results is not grounds for a return or refund. Once the laboratory service has been completed correctly and in accordance with our high standards of quality, returns cannot be accepted.
Our lab is CLIA-certified, HIPAA-compliant, and adheres to rigorous quality assurance protocols with every batch of samples to maintain a 99.9% reproducibility rate, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of your results.
